Nineteen of Medvedev's 21 victories have been achieved on hard surfaces
A resurgent the Russian player secured his maiden championship for 882 days with victory over opponent Moutet in the Almaty Open final.
The athlete, a former top-ranked player, has endured a challenging season, winning just one win at the big events and suffering a meltdown at the New York tournament.
His varied form on the ATP Tour - and struggles with his service game in especial - led to him dropping out of the world's top 10 and ultimately separating with former trainer Gilles Cervara.
Presently working with his coach and Goetzke, Medvedev has gradually improved in the recent weeks - culminating in a hard-fought three-set victory over challenger Moutet.
It is the player's first championship since the Italian tournament and first on a hardcourt from March of the previous year.
Victory also means Medvedev has achieved 21 titles at 21 distinct events.
"For the first time I am participating in a event with my children at once, so to win a championship is really nice," commented tennis professional Daniil Medvedev.
"This championship is in honour of my second daughter her name, because the initial championship I got when my first daughter her name was delivered was for her."
The tennis star, the 2021 US Open champion, had been defeated in his past six title deciders, including in Halle in the past months.
His counter-punching approach and recurring outbursts on the playing surface had led some to doubt if his skill to compete at the highest level was finished.
However the 29-year-old has made changes in recent weeks, striving to come to the net and compete aggressively, backed up by an improved serve.
The champion fought back from a disadvantage in the first set against the difficult Frenchman, taking four of the last five games to go ahead.
The pair traded break points in the second set before the challenger, attempting for his maiden ATP Tour victory, seized the initiative to create a third set.
The opponent defended four initial chances in a close final set before the Russian won the break to that score to close out the victory.
Suitably, he clinched the title with a point at the net area, with the Frenchman unable to manage a return after over two and a half hours.
